Emma Slaymaker (b. 1993, Knoxville, Tennessee) is an artist studying and working in Strasbourg, France. Currently an MFA student in painting at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, Emma’s work explores vulnerability, personal identity, the liminal and nostalgic qualities of emotion, and the shared human experience of yearning. Themes around feminism, her childhood, and a connection with nature shape her ideas.
